When your professor tells you the content of your writing is in good shape.

When your professor tells you the structure of your writing is in good shape.

When your professor tells you your formulated ideas are in good shape.

Well, you just feel in “good shape.”

And as she tells you that,

something another one of your future professors tells you from an interview

resurfaces.

“To me journalists were the ones on the white horses charging at the fire breathing dragon and it was their responsibility to drive it away or slay it,” Professor Good said.

His words, and her words hit you.

You feel in “good shape”

because you are actually

slaying the dragon.

p.s. My journalism professor and I went over my feature today and she was as happy about it as I was so far. So, here’s to slaying the dragon in journalism, and in life!
