We hold hands to form a chain, and walk cautiously into the crowd. We take small steps hoping not to step on one another’s toes. There are too many people around us that we don’t know because we’re trekking through Saks 5th avenue the day after Christmas. We call our cousin and her family to link up. We watch the light show 3x before our cousin and her family find us. We walk quickly through the crowd at one point while the show is still going. The crowd has stopped their movement to watch the show peacefully. This is our time to move through with ease, move through quickly. We finally get to the tree at Rockefeller Center. And my little brother comes to the conclusion that this exhilarating, crazy crowd was just to take a selfie. Or at least get a few good ones.
p.s. Here’s to the holiday season even after Christmas!
